DAI Inside Scoop: This is a great choice for families. The resort is fun and there are plenty of activities. All the rooms are junior suites and that makes for a super comfortable stay. Located in Playa Bavaro, just 30 minutes from Punta Cana airport, it's easy to get to and on a gorgeous stretch of beach.
There is an excellent kids club and teen club included in the all inclusive resort stay at Iberostar Bavaro Suites.
The resort also offers baby-sitting (additional cost) but mom & dad can plan an adults only dinner out. The IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel, located in the same complex, is an adults-only hotel with five restaurants to choose from. Adults at the Bavaro can enjoy a dinner at any of these restaurants for a slight up charge. The nightclub opens at 11 p.m. if you're interested in dancing the night away.
Iberostar Bavaro Suites has an excellent food and beverage program with quality buffets and ala carte options. We thought their themes were impressive at the buffets. Make sure you book reservations at the speciality restaurants early in your stay as they do get booked up quickly and they are very good!
If you are a pure carnivore you have to try the Steak Restaurant, all meat and fish is cooked to perfection we call the starters 'distractors' and it's easy to get filled up on those before the main course arrives. My son loved the Japanese Restaurant and even managed to use chop sticks for the first time.

Parents might want to know that the beach areas at all Iberostar resorts are designated topless and the large number of European travelers who visit the Dominican Republic make the likelihood very high for your children witnessing topless sunbathing. The pool areas require swimsuits, but occasionally an enthusiastic sunbather may overlook the signs (If that happens, simply notify guest services and they will communicate appropriately with the topless guest).
